Ben was out of town this weekend so I decided, what better time to take on the big bad potty (bad idea)... Of course, Shaeffer (monkey see monkey do) thinks he's ready as well (which he is far from). We've tried to make him disinterested as much as possible as I just don't think we could handle them both peeing all over the house... These are my PT findings...
1. Mommy should get the treats!
2. I have no idea what I am doing!
3. Diapers are so much easier!
4. Did I mention I don't know what I'm doing? I feel like this could take YEARS!
5. Is it considered "potty trained" if you have to ask them every hour if they have to go? I don't think so...
If you know how to do this I would love some advice... I really don't know what I'm doing!

You are a brave woman. I have to admit that I just let Ira stay in diapers until I knew he was ready (which was 4 yrs old). The good thing about that is that it was pretty much done in a day. There was the occasional accident but it was rare. The bad, of course, was that I had four years of changing diapers for him. I think that we will do Greg this winter. He is three now and I think he will be ready soon.
My sister in law tried with her two year old a few months ago and gave up after a week of cleaning the floor constantly.
I don't know any tricks. I just kind of waited until they were ready. Good luck. No more diapers is a great thing!
i wonder how long Shaeffer will haul that bear around?
