This weekend I headed down to my alma mater Iowa State University to meet my BFF Lynn... We had a fabulous time indulging in "girly" things like facials and Pedicures... But the hit of the weekend had to be living like college students; walking to class, hanging out in the DZ house, The MU, Wallaby's and Great Plains! We graduated a hefty 10 years ago and it's crazy how much you forget and how much things change... The trees seemed more full, there were new buildings, restaurants and bars, the house has been remodeled, and there is now a Caribou Coffee on campus... There were some things that didn't change, however... Our classrooms looked and smelled just the same, the campus is amazingly beautiful, the people were so friendly and the Cyclones rule the roost! I wish I hadn't waited so long to return, although it made it that much more special! College (and especially ISU) is such a special place and I feel very fortunate to have gone to such an outstandingly beautiful institution. I realized as I walked around campus how much you take for granted when you are 18 and a bit self centered. My parents must have dropped me off at ISU and thought "wow, what a great place for her". I wish I had taken more mental pictures and cherished my 4 years there because time goes so fast and before you know it, 10 years and a lot of life have passed... Thanks Lynn for a great weekend and thanks ISU for the fun memories! I can't wait to visit again soon!!!
