Last week Shaeffer turned the big 2! When I was planning Shaeffer's party I asked Sutton, "What does Shaeffer like?" Sutton quickly answered, "Books, mommy, Shaeffer loves books!" It is so true... Shaeffer loves to read. At home he always wants to look at books or is always asking for one of us to read to him. In the church nursery we often find him looking at books, as well as at his ECFE class... Shaeffer loves books. In our house we have several books by the children's author, Eric Carle. One of our favorite books is "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." We went with this as our theme for Shaeffer's party. All of the guests were invited to wear their PJ's to our morning party, we feasted on some of Shaeffer's breakfast favorites, and we all brought Shaeffer books instead of toys. It was such a busy weekend that I procrastinated making Shaeffer's cupcakes... I was up the night before his party fairly late baking and decorating them. My BFF Lynn and I sat on video chat for a good hour as we tried to figure out how to make a caterpillar out of cupcakes...
